SOLOMON — Little River’s volleyball team bounced back from a first-match loss to earn a split of its day in a modified quad hosted Tuesday by Solomon.
The Redskins lost a tough three-setter to open the day to Solomon (26-24, 23-25, 19-25).
“We had our opportunities to beat them in the second set and just couldn’t get it done,” Little River coach Kim Rolfs said. “Our emotions I think played a part in our play during the third set. Getting behind 6-17, we put ourselves in a tough position and couldn’t pull off the comeback. We had a decent spread of offense with several tallying up kill points.”
Morgan Konen (6), Lily Boughfman (5) and Abbie Hudson (4) were kill leaders. Gracie Richardson was the serve receive leader.
Little River shook off that disappointment for a 25-18, 25-17 victory over Wakefield. Konen powered her way to 11 kills and Boughfman had 7. Emma Wright led the back row with 6 digs.
