WICHITA — Hesston High’s volleyball team improved to 15-3 on the season and solidified its No. 6 state ranking in Class 3A by winning a best-of-five dual match with Trinity Academy in four sets on Thursday.
Hesston won 25-20, 25-18, 20-25, 25-20.
“We didn’t play our best, but found a way to keep fighting and win against a team with some talented hitters and very good servers,” Hesston coach Jason Peters said. “Our passing was not very sharp all night long, and we did not get many passes to our setters in the target area, but we persevered and did a pretty good job attacking when we were able to get in system.”
Hesston’s JVs were defeated, while the C-team triumphed.
