McPherson Middle School’s girls tennis team finished the dual portion of its schedule here Tuesday by outlasting Salina South 10-8 to finish head-to-head competition undefeated.

The eighth-graders who play for MMS finished their careers undefeated in dual matches.

“The girls played well today against a tough Salina South team that is loaded with eighth- graders, while we only had two eighth-graders play today,” MMS coach Ricardo Sanchez said. “One of our biggest struggles was giving our opponents easy balls at the net person in doubles. We will need to work on that in practice this week. We have a few days of practice before our Top 12 go to the Pioneer League Tournament in Salina next Tuesday where I expect a close race in the team standings.”
