WWTP: Root Control Treatment
Motion to approve a contract with Duke's Root Control, Inc. to treat various sewer lines for a total cost not to exceed $30,000.00.
Once every three years we scheduled maintenance root control for our problem areas. We have a quote from Duke's Root Control foam treatment for an estimated $30,000. The cost proposal is to apply root control to 19,419 lineal feet of sewer line. We have used this service with good results in the past. Final quantities and total cost may vary slightly based on actual measured lengths obtained during the work.
Street Department: Paving for Pizza Agreement
Motion to approve the Domino's "Paving for Pizza" Agreement and authorize the Mayor to sign the agreement.
Attached please find the Domino's Paving for Pizza Agreement. This agreement provides $5,000 for the City of McPherson to fill potholes anywhere in the City before May 1, 2019. The City is required to take pictures or video of at least two of the pot holes and report how many potholes were filled with the $5,000. Domino's has the right to use the City of McPherson as an official partner in the Paving for Pizza campaign and use the photographs in their advertising of such. This agreement has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney.
Hartup-Elizabeth Street Reconstruction Project: Design Contract (Earles Engineering)
Motion to approve Change Order #2 in the amount of $33,079.00, which includes previously approved $14,400 on 09/04/2018 for preparations and staking of needed easements, $479 for an additional easement at the middle school and $18,200 for the redesign of the drop off lane, and authorize the Mayor to sign the Change Order.
On March 3, 2017, the Commission approved the design contract with Earles Engineering in the amount of $125,743. On October 23, 2017, the Commission approved Change Order #1 in the amount of $15,000 to add the design of Hartup Street from Kansas Avenue to Marlin Street. On September 8, 2018, the Commission approved $14,400 for the staking and drawing of exhibits. We have included this amount in Change Order #2, as well as additional easements needed at the school for $479, and the redesign of the drop off lane along Elizabeth Street, which is estimated at $18,200. The grand total of the design contract with Earles Engineering is now $173,822.
