LINDSBORG — Bethany College women’s soccer goalie Destinee Wells has been named NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week.

Wells was lauded for her performances in games Oct. 29-Nov. 4.

She had 18 saves in two overtime Bethany wins.

“"We are so proud of Destinee for receiving this national recognition," Bethany coach Justin Olson said. "She has put in a lot of work to get to this point and it's great to see her be rewarded for her efforts. She has bailed us out when we needed her to this season especially in the last two overtime games. Congrats to her and we are looking forward to seeing her continue to improve."

Bethany’s season ended on Tuesday with a 1-0 loss to Kansas Wesleyan.
