Another softball honor for Jones

AUSTIN, Texas – Another honor for McPherson College softball standout Jessica Jones.

Jones, who earlier was named an NAIA second-team All-Anerican, recently was named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America NAIA Softball second team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A Brentwood, Calif. native, Jones led the team in batting average (.472), runs (45) and hits (76), while also adding four doubles, two home runs, a triple and 14 RBIs. 

The Google Cloud Academic All-America NAIA program is financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 NAIA Google Cloud Academic All-America teams.

According to a release, the Google Cloud Academic All-America College Division Softball Team produced an average GPA of 3.88 with the first team combining for an average GPA of 3.91. The team includes three student-athletes with 4.0 GPA or higher.
