The Salina Symphony has launched the search for a music director and conductor. To date, the orchestra has received nearly 100 applications for the position.

Candidates will guest conduct during the 2021-2022 season at the Symphony, and patrons will have an opportunity to provide feedback.

“We are committed to finding the right person to lead the orchestra into the future,” said Kyle Campbell, Symphony Board member and search committee chair.

The search committee is being assisted by consultant Henry Fogel, former executive director of the League of American Orchestras.

Dr. David Littrell, who retired in 2018 as a distinguished professor of music at Kansas State University, is currently serving as interim music director and conductor, a role he will continue through the 2020-2021 season.

The Salina Symphony is dedicated to its mission of enriching lives through artistic music performance and education. For more information, contact Adrienne Allen at (785) 823-8309 or visit salinasymphony.org.
