Central Christian College women’s basketball coach Chris Honeck has signed Molly Young, a 5-8 guard-forward from Beaumont, Texas.

Young graduated from Porter High School in 2012. She played at Arlington Baptist College in Arlington, Texas, her first year out of high school, where she was a 2nd-team ACCA All-American for the Patriots.

“I’m very excited to have Molly join our program. She has a very high basketball IQ, and is a fierce competitor on the court,” Honeck said. “On top of that, she’s a great person, and will do great things here at CCC.”

She is the daughter of Bill and Karla Young of Beaumont. Her father is a 1983 CCC alum.

She plans on pursuing an exercise science degree. It is uncertain yet whether or not Young will be redshirted this season to preserve a full year of eligibility or if she will play right away. She averaged 17 points a game her freshman year at Arlington and no doubt will be a difference-maker for the Tigers whenever she joins her new teammates on the hardwood.
