Mac kickers earn regional honors

 McPherson College’s Oscar Cortez and Johnny Nuthall have been named to the 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire All-Region Team for the three NCAA divisions, NAIA and junior colleges. Both were tabbed for spots on the first team All-Plains Region. They are the lone KCAC members on the first team.

Cortez was a junior midfielder and awarded a spot on the All-KCAC first team earlier this year. He ended the season with three goals and four assists for 10 total points while starting in 17 of the 18 games. He has been the field general for the squad for the past two seasons.

Recently named an NAIA All-American, Nuthall is coming off an impressive season. He was crowned KCAC Offensive Player of the Year, Most Valuable Player and was also named conference Offensive Player of the Week twicer. He totaled 15 goals and three assists for a KCAC-leading 33 points. He took 80 shots on the year, averaging 4.4 a contest, and placing 41 on frame. The senior will graduate in May with a degree in business.
