Central Christian College’s basketball teams will make their final home appearance of 2013 Thursday when they entertain Ozark Christian College.
The women start at 5 p.m., with the men to follow at 7 at Pyle Complex.
Both CCC teams will be attempting to complete season sweeps.
The Lady Tigers, who are 6-8 on the year, were a 71-55 winner in the first meeting behind 16 points and seven rebounds from Quamisha Spence. Libby Regier added 11 points and Harley Pate chipped in with 10.
This also will be the Lady Tigers’ last game of 2013. They are off for nearly a month, as the 2014 portion of the schedule starts Jan. 9 with a home game against Manhattan Christian. After another home game on the 11th against Hillsdale Baptist, the Lady Tigers finally open MCAC play on Jan. 17 hosting Waldorf.
The men’s game with Ozark Christian should be wildly entertaining as the Tigers seek to improve to 11-1. In the first meeting, Central rallied from 15 points down with 2 minutes left in regulation before eventually winning 129-122 in double-overtime. A whopping six Tigers scored in double figures — Daniel Nwosuh (21), Aaron Miller (20), Sam Clayborn (19), Nathan Fort (19), Dustin Rojas (18) and Chris Quincy (12).
Following Thursday’s game, the Tigers play an exhibition game Saturday at Fort Hays State. Game time at Gross Coliseum is 4 p.m. Because Fort Hays State is NCAA Division II, the result doesn’t count on Central’s record. It will be the Tigers' final action of 2013.
