Swedes place three wrestlers at York

YORK, Neb. — Bethany College’s wrestling team competed Saturday in the York Open Invitational.

The Swedes recorded six pins and a total time of 24:18. Three Swedes placed.

Freshman Spencer Wilson took third in the 184 division. He won by falls at 6:07 and 2:04 and won by a 10-9 decision.

Freshman Victor Hughes finished fourth in the 149 division. He won by decisions of 5-2 and 9-2, won by fall at 6:42 and won by medical forfeit.

In the 174 division, freshman Zach Eaton placed fourth. He won by fall at 4:47.

"It was a tough day, but glad to see our guys battle and improve," Bethany coach Jacob Marrs said. "I am proud of this team and we will stand with them through the thick and thin.”
