With cold weather returning to Kansas this week, McPherson Board of Public Utilities General Manager Tim Maier reminded the public at Monday's City Commission meeting about the BPU's Operation Warmth program to assist those less fortunate with their utility bills.

Maier said, "We've had several area churches recently donate to (the program)."

There are two ways a person can donate. One is through a contribution designated by its own check to the BPU. The other is through the BPU's Round-Up program. For example, if your bill is $65.58 for a given period and you participate in the Round-Up program, you will be billed $66, and the additional 42 cents will go to Operation Warmth. For more information on how you can help, call the McPherson Board of Public Utilities at (620) 245-2515.
