McPherson College’s rebounding machine Devirous Johnson was named Monday as the KCAC Defensive Player of the Week, the second time this season he has been honored.

The 6-3 senior forward from Brooklyn, N.Y., scored 17 points and yanked down 14 rebounds against Baker on Friday. Then on Saturday against Haskell, he had another monster game with 26 points and 13 rebounds.

Johnson leads the NAIA in four different rebounding categories: defensive rebounds per Game (8.25), offensive rebounds per game (4.5), total rebounds per game (12.75) and total rebounds (204).

Johnson and the Bulldogs will be back in action Thursday when they resume KCAC play at Hillsboro against Tabor College.
