Central Christian College’s basketball teams make their final tune-ups this week before starting MCAC play next week.

Both CCC teams host Manhattan Christian on Thursday, then Hillsdale Baptist is here Saturday. After that, it’s the beginning of MCAC play on Jan. 17 when Waldorf comes to town.

The Central men will be trying to avoid a letdown. They’re coming off a trip to Florida where they topped county rival Bethany College before playing the nation’s No. 1-ranked team, Embry-Riddle, tough for about 30 minutes before the Eagles pulled away.

Neither game for the Tigers this week will be easy. They scraped out an 82-72 win over Manhattan Christian in the first meeting on the Crusaders’ home floor and slipped past Hillsdale 86-82 in Moore, Okla.

The Tigers take a 12-2 record into Thursday’s 7:30 p.m. clash. Saturday’s game time is the customary 5 p.m.

The Central women will be looking to even their overall record at 8-8 in what is their first appearance of the new year. The Lady Tigers will be seeking to avenge an earlier 70-68 loss to Manhattan Christian. They were a 71-67 winner over Hillsdale in the first game between the teams.

Friday’s game starts at 5:30 p.m., with Saturday’s game at 3 p.m.
