LINDSBORG — Bethany College has named Tony Stennett as the new Coordinator of Athletic Communications.
"Tony has experience in a couple different institutions' sports information offices as a student," Bethany Dean of Athletics Dane Pavlovich said. "With his sports and communications background, he became the ideal candidate for our position. We are very excited to have Tony as a Swede.”
While at Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind., Stennett worked as the Student Assistant Sports Information Director for two years. He documented statistics for varsity athletic contests, held play-by-play commentary and public address roles, photographed and edited game photos, and assisted with operations at the NCCAA Division I National Basketball Championships.
"I am honored and very excited for the opportunity to work at Bethany College," Stennett said. "I look forward to working in an institution with a tradition of excellence in all areas."
Prior to his time at Grace College, Stennett spent two years at Trine University in Angola, Ind. There, he was a student worker in the sports information department both years. Stennett entered statistics, wrote game recaps for athletic events, fulfilled public address roles for varsity and junior varsity athletic contests, and assisted with game day operations for all Trine University athletic events.
Stennett holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Sport Management from Grace College. He is a member of Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society in Business, Management and Administration (2013) and a member of Alpha Chi National Honor Scholarship Society (2012).
Stennett was a counselor at Kids Across America 3 in the summer of 2012. He was also involved at the Trine University Christian Campus House for two years, and was a Sonlight Community Church Youth Group Mentor from fall 2010-spring 2011.
