MMS' Crawford wins 100th game

McPherson Middle School eighth-grade girls basketball coach Jay Crawford won his 100th game Thursday as the Bullpups survived one of their closest challenges of the year.

MMS came away with a 38-27 victory, pulling away in the fourth quarter after South had gamely tried to pull the upset.

Rylee Schrader led MMS with 10 points, followed by Taylor Robertson with eight, and Mandi Cooks and Laiken Hein with seven apiece.

The victory was the Bullpups’ 13th without a loss.

The B-team secured a 30-22 victory behind 10 points by Mattea Black and seven by Cheyann Williams. MMS is now 10-1.

MMS A (38) — Crist 2, Gabel 4, Hein 7, Cooks 7, Robertson 8, Schrader 10.

MMS B (30) — Barrett 2, Schmidt 5, Crist 6, Williams 7, Black 10.
