SV's Cook wins title at Augusta

AUGUSTA — Smoky Valley’s Austin Cook won the 170-pound class Saturday in the Augusta Invitational.

Behind Cook and eight other Viking placers, Smoky Valley took a highly creditable fourth place with 168 1/2 points, trailing only Kapaun (221), Augusta (217 1/2) and Andover (176).

There were 14 teams in all.

Cook won his championship match by a technical fall over Wright Bosley of Augusta, 17-1.

Taking second for the Vikings were Austin Lustfield at 106, Spencer Bird at 182 and Brix Brickey at 285.

Thirds went to Brandon Archuleta at 132 and Ethan Loder at 195. Caleb Sare and Noah Lackey were fourth at 120 and 126, respectively, and Austin Golden grabbed sixth at 138.
