Junior Eagles lose to Central Christian

HUTCHINSON — Central Christian handed Elyria Christian School’s junior high boys only their second basketball loss of the year on Monday, 45-36.

The Junior Eagles were down only one point going into the fourth quarter, but the hosts came up with a 18-point period to seal the deal.

Tyler Thiessen continued his excellent play by making 7 of 12 floor shots to score 15 points. Aidan Fields just missed double figures with nine.

The Junior Eagles are now 7-2.

The Elyria Junior High girls lost 43-30 despite 12 points by Bailey Unruh and eight by Christin Vetter.

Elyria is now 2-7. Both Eagle teams play Thursday at Rural Vista.
