SALINA — McPherson’s seventh-grade girls’ B-team improved its record to 13-1 Saturday by winning two games in the Salina Lakewood Jamboree.
MMS edged Great Bend 15-13 in a low-scoring game. Halle Armstrong and Alaina Diggs tallied four points apiece. The Bullpups held Great Bend without a point in the second quarter.
MMS then allowed one point to Hays in the first quarter before pitching a shutout the rest of the way in a resounding 29-1 lockdown. J’anae Spaich’s 10 points led the Bullpups.
“It was nice to see all the girls score in at least one of the games today,” MMS coach Jacque Gehrt said. “The girls really are playing together as a team and they had one of their best games against Hays, especially on defense.”
