HUTCHINSON — Landon Thompson of the MAC Wrestling Club was named the 8-and-under “Outstanding Wrestler” Saturday during the Team Lightning Invitational.
Thompson took first place in the 8-and-under, 80-pound class.
It was a good day for the MAC team, as it had several placers.
1st — Logan Peterson, 6-and-under, 49; Jayden Lindsheid, 6-and-under, 55; Treyton Pelnar, 8-and-under, 52; Jaytin Gumm, 8-and-under, 70; Landon Thompson, 8-and-under, 80; Landon Frantz, 12-and-under, 110.
2nd — Tucker Pelnar, 8-and-under, 61; Elijah Clarke, 8-and-under, 76; Mason Thrash, 12-and-under, 190.
3rd — Bishop Brown, 6-and-under, 55; Jase Fitzmorris, 6-and-under, 61; Ethan Lindsheid, 8-and-under, 49; Kyden Thompson, 8-and-under, 64; Collin Pearson, 10-and-under, 67; Jonah Scott, 10-and-under, 130.
4th — Ryder Norstrom, 8-and-under, 76; Kaleigh Marbut, 12-and-under, 110; Colten Eldredge, 12-and-under, 190; Nolan Schrader, 14-and-under, 115.
5th — Seth Morgan, 12-and-under, 88; Tyson Gottwald, 12-and-under, 96.
Also participating were Hudson Krehbiel, Koty Lackey, Jaela Thompson, Mara Engel, Kelvin Peterson, Neill Raymond, Kourtney Craig and Gunnar Reiss.
This weekend the wrestlers will be competing in the Maize Battle of the Belt, held at the Star Casino in Mulvane. Some will also be at the Augusta Invitational held at the Augusta High School.
