McPherson High graduate Derick Goodson, the most prolific Bullpup swimmer in school history after taking a silver and bronze at state last year, is continuing his success in his freshman year at Adams State University in Alamosa, Colo.

Goodson already has broken the school record in the 50 freestyle, and was part of two relay teams that broke the high altitude record, the 200 medley and 200 freestyle.

He soon will be competing in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Meet, with an eye toward braking the 100 freestyle record and earning a berth for nationals in Ohio.
