It’s must-win time for Central Christian College’s basketball teams here Tuesday night.

The Central teams complete a three-game MCAC homestand to open conference play when they entertain York College.

Tip time is 5:30 p.m. for the women, 7:30 for the men.

The Lady Tigers actually are playing the last of seven straight games at home. They have opened MCAC play with a narrow loss to Waldorf College and a 50-point blowout loss to nationally ranked College of St. Mary.

If the Lady Tigers, 8-11 overall, have any thoughts of finishing in the upper half of the MCAC standings, they can’t afford another home loss.

York is in a four-way logjam for third place with a 1-1 record. The Panthers are 6-7 overall, with their MCAC win a 84-52 pummeling of Waldorf College, which defeated CCC by five points on Friday. The Panthers also own an 84-62 win over McPherson College.

The Central men are looking to regain their swag. They entered MCAC play 14-2, but were knocked off by four points by Waldorf College on Friday, then dismantled on Saturday by nationally ranked Bellevue.

York also is off to an 0-2 start in the MCAC, also losing to Waldorf and Bellevue. It played the Bruins much closer than Central, losing by nine, and lost to Waldorf by eight.

After Tuesday’s games, the CCC teams are on the road for a pair of games this weekend, Friday at Haskell and Saturday at Oklahoma Wesleyan.
