MHS boys still No. 1; girls No. 7

McPherson High’s basketball teams remained in their same spots in this week’s Kansas Basketball Coaches Association polls.

The MHS boys are still No. 1 in Class 4A Division I. Baldwin is No. 2, while the rest of the Top 10 includes Basehor-Linwood, Kansas City Piper, Ottawa, Coffeyville, Labette County, Paola, Augusta and Abilene.

The MHS girls are No. 7, trailing Wamego, Miege, Paola, Fort Scott, Andover Central and Topeka Hayden. Behind the Bullpups at No. 8 is Buhler, with Coffeyville and Independence completing the Top 10.

Both Hesston teams stayed No. 1 in Class 3A. Rounding out the Top Five on the boys’ side are Eureka, Beloit, Sabetha and Holcomb. The Swather girls are followed by Riley County, Holcomb, Douglass and Cimarron.

The Moundridge boys are No. 9 in Class 2A, with St. John leading the way. The Wildcat girls are ranked No. 10, with Jefferson County North No. 9.
