McPherson High’s bowling team makes its much-anticipated home debut Friday at Starlite Lanes, hosting Mulvane and Cheney in a triangular.
The girls start things at 1 p.m., with the boys to follow.
“It should be an exciting day,” MHS coach Herb Halinski said. “We haven't had a meet since last Tuesday and the kids are tired of practicing. They want some competition. We have videotaped this week and they know what they need to work on individually for their game.”
MHS competed in a Baker-style tournament at Wichita to open the season before winning a triangular last week against Newton and Cheney. Joel Morey led the boys with a 617 series, while Crystal Nutter topped the girls with 537.
MHS also will compete Saturday in the Great Plains Invitational at Wichita, which includes many of the state’s best teams.
