BC wrestlers ranked 16th nationally

LINDSBORG — The Bethany College wrestling team is ranked 16th in the current NAIA national poll. 

The poll was voted on by a panel of head coaches that represent each of the qualifying groups. 

The Swedes are also ranked fourth in the NAIA Central Group Qualifying Poll.

Grand View (Iowa) led the Central group with 222 team points, followed by Missouri Valley 183, Baker (Kan.) 142, Bethany (Kan.) 127, Oklahoma City 116, Wayland Baptist (Texas) 39, William Penn (Iowa) 32, and Benedictine (Kan.) 29.

In addition, 10 Bethany wrestlers are ranked in the NAIA Wrestling Top Individuals:

141: Dane Edwards, 4th

141: Colt Rogers, 5th

149: Colby Crank, 2nd

149: Courtney Strauss, 5th

157: Jonathan Blackwell, 4th

165: Jordon Ward, 5th  

184: Spencer Wilson, 5th

184: Trevor Whittaker, 6th

197: Taylor Baird, 4th

285: Zach Anderson, 5th

"The final run through the end of the season is an exciting one," Bethany coach Jacob Marrs said. "We believe we have the potential to finish much higher than we are ranked and that will come down to what we make of each day that is in front of us."
