Central Christian College softball coach Chad Kerr has added another player to his roster for the 2014-2015 season.
Kasi Kraus, a left-handed pitcher/utility player, has signed her national letter of intent to play softball for Kerr and the Lady Tigers.
Kraus is a senior at Mission Valley High School in Eskridge, where she was a four-year standout in volleyball, basketball and on the softball field. She played her high school softball for coach Roger Converse and earned numerous awards for her prowess on the softball diamond.
As a freshman she was named an All-Flint Hills outfielder. Her sophomore year she was honorable mention All-Flint Hills at first base. Last season she was again named honorable mention All-Flint Hills, this time as a pitcher.
Kraus is also an excellent student in the classroom. In her time at Mission Valley, she has maintained a 3.85 cumulative GPA, and she plans on pursuing a degree in Exercise Science while attending Central Christian next fall.
“Kasi is a very talented player who has been an All-League Kansas player pretty much her whole high school career and can play multiple positions,” Kerr said. “Primarily a pitcher or first baseman she can also handle herself in the outfield. With her left-handed throwing and hitting, speed, knowledge and experience in the game of softball, she has the chance to come right in as a freshman and make a case for immediate playing time. She is a terrific young lady both on the field and off, and in the classroom, and will help continue the upward turnaround of the Lady Tiger Softball program. I can't wait to get her on campus this fall and start working with her.”
Kasi is the daughter of Rex and Cindy Kraus.
