LAWRENCE — It was a tough night Friday for the Central Christian College basketball teams.

The Tiger men lost 78-70 to Haskell despite 28 points by Aaron Miller. CCC fell to 1-3 in the MCAC, 15-5 overall.

Haskell led 39-38 at the half and the Tigers stalled in the second half. They finished the game making just 26 of 73 shots, well under their normal standards.

“We came out pretty strong the first 10 minutes, but the last 30 were pretty weak,” CCC coach Tony Romero said. “Very disappointed in the way we did not rebound the ball tonight, we had to give up at least 25 second-chance points. If we give any team that many second-opportunities, it makes it extremely difficult to win.”

The Lady Tigers are now 0-4 in the MCAC and 8-13 overall after being lambasted 91-45, with Ashlyn Garza’s 10 points the only highlight.

“We started out very flat tonight and were never able to recover,” CCC coach Chris Honeck said.  “We were dominated on the boards tonight and shot very poorly —  that's not a good recipe for playing on the road in this league.  The only positive is that we get to play again right away, which forces is to have a short memory.”

Both CCC teams are at Oklahoma Wesleyan today.
