The McPherson Chamber of Commerce Business and Membership Committee hosted a Legislative Coffee Saturday morning at the Well. State Representative Don Schroeder and newly appointed State Senator Clark Shultz answered questions from voters interested in legislative issues.

As part of the public meeting, Mid Kansas Online had an opportunity to ask Shultz what he would like to see in his replacement in the 73rd District of the Kansas House. Shultz said, "When you look back, we've had some very well balanced individuals who just tried to go up and, they don't try to be real political, but, they just try to fairly look at the issues." He also said, "I want to see somebody that would look at the issues, examine them, weigh them and then just vote to the best of their ability. A lot of common sense."

Shultz's replacement will be selected by McPherson County precinct committee members at a meeting February 17th at the Wesley Black Fine Arts Center on the campus of Central Christian College at 7pm.
