Gardner-Edgerton held Hays to 1 of 23 from the field in the first half and 9 of 45 for the game to bury the Indians 64-27 Saturday afternoon in the seventh-place game of the Mid America Classic.
The Trailblazers blazed to a 19-1 first-quarter lead and stretched it out to 44-7 by the half. Hays also struggled in the third quarter, but the alarm went off in the final period as it scored 14 points.
G-E drilled 16 of 29 first-half shots before finishing 23 of 48 as coach Scott Schaefer made liberal use of his bench. Angeliece Tucker scored 15 points to lead the way and Cassidy Androff came up with a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Trailblazers head home with a 5-8 record.
Brooke Russell, who made three second-half 3-pointers, scored nine points to lead Hays, which fell to 0-13.
