Weather played a role in an injury causing crash on I-135 Saturday morning in McPherson County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. At 11:40 Saturday morning, a 1995 Jeep driven by 38 year old Alleda M Hickel of Claflin was struck from behind by a semi tractor driven by 51 year old Curtis W. Lewis of Wichita. Hickel was driving slowly due to weather conditions. Hickel was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for treatment and was in critical condition Saturday night, according to a report in Sunday morning's Salina Journal. Both Hickel and Lewis were wearing seat belts. Lewis was not injured in the accident.
