JOPLIN, Mo. — Only three McPherson College Bulldogs competed at the Missouri Southern State University Invitational and Multi Event track & field meet this past weekend, but another school record did fall.
Sharica Pleasant (Long Beach, Calif.), who owns two school records this year, broke another on Friday as she performed in the pentathlon. Her total points in the five events totaled 2,938, which broke her record from a year ago by just a few points. She competed in the 60 hurdles, long jump, triple jump, shot put and 800. Miranda Clark Ulrich (Russell, Kan.) also ran for the Bulldogs on Friday, posting a time of 21:24.85 in the 5,000, setting a new personal record.
A newcomer to the MC track and field team. Marlon Clayton (San Diego, Calif.). got his first meet of the year in, participating in the long jump. The freshman posted a mark of 6.19m (20' 3.75") which put him 27th out of 46 athletes. He was the top conference athlete in the event and is now fourth on the KCAC Indoor Performance List.
The rest of the Mac track and field athletes had the weekend off as they rested up for this week's KCAC Indoor Championships which are scheduled for Feb. 7-8 in Manhattan.
