Hesston’s basketball teams are ranked No. 1 in Class 3A this week by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association.
The Hesston boys are followed by Eureka, Sabetha, Beloit, Holcomb, Council Grove, Nemaha Valley, Humboldt, Rock Creek and Minneapolis.
The Swathers also rule the girls’ division, with Riley County No. 2. Rounding out the Top 10 are Cimarron, Cherryvale, Holcomb, Douglass, Cheney, Council Grove, Caney and Marysville.
McPherson High’s boys remain No. 2 in Class 4A Division I, trailing only Baldwin. Basehor-Linwood checks in at No. 3, while the rest of the Top 10 includes Kansas City Piper, Ottawa, Coffeyville, Labette County, Paola, Augusta and Independence.
MHS’ girls remain No. 7. Wamego rules the roost, followed by Miege, Fort Scott, Paola, Topeka Hayden, Andover Central, MHS, Coffeyville, Independence and Bonner Springs.
The Moundridge girls have climbed to No. 7 in Class 2A after winning the Haven Classic. Jefferson County North continues at No. 1, while also ahead of the Wildcats are Sterling, Central Plains, Ellinwood, Washington County and Hillsboro.
The Moundridge boys are No. 10 in Class 2A, which has been led all season by St. John, which has yet to be remotely challenged in a game this season.
