Home game with Auburn highlights KSU football schedule

MANHATTAN — Kansas State will entertain last year’s national runner-up Auburn on Sept. 18 as part of the 2014 football schedule announced Monday by the school.

That will be a Thursday night nationally televised game.

The Wildcats also will play Iowa State in their second game of the season, opening Big 12 play earlier than normal on Sept. 6.

The schedule includes seven home games and three bye weeks. The Wildcats will go more than a month between road games, playing Sept. 6 at Iowa State and then not packing up again until Oct. 18 at Oklahoma.

Aug. 30 — Stephen F. Austin

Sept. 6 — at Iowa State

Sept. 13 — Bye

Sept. 18 — Auburn

Sept. 27 — UTEP

Oct. 4 — Texas Tech

Oct. 11 — Bye

Oct. 18 — at Oklahoma

Oct. 25 — Texas

Nov. 1 — Oklahoma State

Nov. 8 — at TCU

Nov. 15 — Bye

Nov. 20 — at West Virginia

Nov. 29 — Kansas

Dec. 6 — at Baylor
