A Moundridge man has died after weather conditions contributed to an accident Tuesday morning just north of Hesston on I-135.
According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, 58 year old Richard Lynn Conquest of Moundridge was driving a 1999 Ford Truck northbound on I-135 when he lost control and spun through the median into the southbound lanes.
A 2013 Chevy Truck driven by 40 year old Jeremy Glenn Scoggins of Kirbyville Texas struck Conquest's truck in the left lane of southbound I-135.
Both Conquest and his passenger, 54 year old Angela L. Durst of Moundridge were taken to the hospital, as was Scoggins.
Conquest was not wearing a seatbelt, but both Durst and Scoggins were wearing safety restraints. According to the Wichita Eagle, Conquest died Wednesday of his injuries.
