EMPORIA — It was arguably the most dominating season in McPherson eighth-grade boys basketball history.
The Bullpups completed a 12-0 season on Thursday with a 46-25 drilling of Emporia. MMS did have some games postponed, so it didn’t play its usual full schedule.
Ben Pyle led MMS with 14 points, and Wyatt Seidl and Mason Alexander added eight points apiece.
The Bullpups of coach Tyler Brown simply weren’t challenged throughout the season. Not only did they have great talent, but they played with teamwork and precision, not to mention they had great depth. The eighth-grade boys had both a perfect football and basketball season.
The B-team was right there, finishing 13-1 after a 39-32 victory. Brian Puhalla’s 14 points topped the Bullpups.
