Note — Pictured above are Carl Frazier and Jasmine Wann, who recently led the Bullpups at Wichita and had good days on Friday.

McPherson High’s bowling teams dismantled Hutchinson on Friday at the friendly confines of Starlite Lanes.

MHS’ boys overwhelmed the Salthawks 2,520-1,821, as three Bullpups clipped the 600 series mark. The girls were nearly 1,000 pins better with a 2,320-1,435 rout.

“It was a clean sweep for us, we finally had a decent meet at home,” MHS coach Herb Halinski said. “Mayce Nightingale led the girls, bowling well. Jasmine (Wann) is starting to come out of her slump, very proud of her as she has been working very hard. The boys did well with three bowling over 600 and Jeff (Reed) had a 599.  I didn't know what to expect since they hadn't bowled since Monday with the lanes being closed because of weather, but they all held there heads high and did a great job.”

For the girls, Nightingale was on fire with three 200-plus games, including a pair of 223s, to finish with a 647 series. Wann had a 584, including a pair of 200 games. Makenzie Benson also had a 200-plus game during the day.

The girls’ JV also had a nice performance from Ashley LaSalle, who had games of 202 and 192 on her way to a 526.

For the boys, Carl Frazier (646, all games over 200), Joel Morey (632, all games over 200) and Brett Hartzell (608, two games over 200) were all immense, while Reed had a huge 248 to start his day and came up a pin shy of 600.

For the JVs, Jacob Krehbiel had a 232 game to highlight a 546 series to lead the way.

The Bullpups are off until Thursday when they are at Augusta to take on El Dorado. Friday is Senior Day at Starlite against Buhler.
