McPherson Board of Public Utilities General Manager Tim Maier gave the statistical information for 2013 for the BPU to the McPherson City Commission at their Monday meeting.
On the electric side, kilowatt-hour sales were up .72 of a percent to 892 million kilowatt-hours, bolstered by a 1.1 percent increase in industrial sales last year. Sales to residential customers were down 2.4 percent. Commercial sales were down .4 percent.
Residential costs were 7.3 cents per kilowatt hour, with industrial at 4.9 cents per kilowatt hour.
On the water side, sales were off quite a bit, as it rained a lot in August, which is usually one of the biggest months for water sales. Gallons sold were off 18 percent from 2012.
Residential sales are about 44 percent of the total. They were down 32.8 percent last year. Commercial is about 51 percent of the total. It was off 11 percent.
