BC wrestlers ranked 15th nationally

LINDSBORG  — The NAIA has released the fifth Wrestling Coaches' Top 20 poll of the season. The Bethany College wrestling team is ranked 15th. 

"This is the last ranking heading into regionals and we are excited about peaking at the right time and finishing the season on a high note," Bethany coach Jacob Marrs said.

The poll was voted on by a panel of head coaches that represent each of the qualifying groups. 

The Swedes are also ranked fourth in the NAIA Central Group Qualifying Poll with 123 team points. 

Grand View (Iowa) led the Central group with 222 team points, followed by Missouri Valley 172, Baker (Kan.) 130, Bethany (Kan.) 123, Oklahoma City 114, Wayland Baptist (Texas) 51, Benedictine (Kan.) 29, William Penn (Iowa) 29 and Bacone (Okla.) 20.

In addition, nine Bethany wrestlers are ranked in the NAIA Wrestling Top Individuals:

141: freshman Dane Edwards, 4th

141: junior Colt Rogers, 5th

149: junior Colby Crank, 2nd

149: freshman Victor Hughes, 4th  

157: freshman Jonathan Blackwell, 5th

165: junior Jordon Ward, 2nd

184: freshman Spencer Wilson, 5th

197: junior Taylor Baird, 4th

285: junior Zach Anderson, 5th
