COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – McPherson College’s track and field team took a small contingent to the Air Force Academy Open on Saturday.

All track results listed, aside from the 60 meter dash, will be altered due to the races being run on an oversized track.

The Mac men were led by Akim Muhammad, who competed in three events. He ran a 22.31 in the 200, a 50.68 in the 400 and was part of the 3:27.32 4 x 400 relay squad.  Marlon Clayton recorded a jump of 14.00m (45' 11.25") in the triple jump, giving him an NAIA "B" standard and breaking his own school record.

For the women, Brooke Bush made her way to nationals with a toss of 12.88m (42' 3.25") in the shot put.  The sprints went well for MC as Rea Samuels, Kaley Kinnamon and Jazmine Alexander were within a few tenths of each other with times of 25.52, 25.74 and 25.81, respectively.  The 4 x 400m crew ran a 4:07.68.

There is just one more meet until nationals for Bulldog track and field, this Saturday for the K-State Open in Manhattan.
