McPherson High’s basketball games with El Dorado here Friday were a fund-raising success.

The “Think Pink Night” donated $3,300.50 to the local organization “Women and Children Combating Cancer.” The various McPherson girls basketball organizations, youth through high school, conducted a fund-raiser and in seven years have now donated more than $24,000.

The MHS wrestling team was in charge of concessions and all profits were donated to the Mija Stockman Fund that is being housed at Peoples Bank. That raised $1,007.36.

Also, 50 percent of Friday’s gate receipts were donated in honor of Mija. That totaled $1,147.09

For the night, McPherson High raised $5,454.95 for two good causes. The school should be congratulated for its support.
