Central Christian College will be adding four new varsity sports in 2015.
The Tigers will be adding men’s and women’s indoor track and field, and men’s and women’s outdoor track and field.
Central hired Dan Swaney at the first of the year to take over the CCC cross country programs. Swaney also has an extensive background in track and field, which was a key component to his hiring. He is currently actively recruiting all athletes interested in running cross country in the fall and or participating in track and field in the winter and spring. The Tigers plan on competing in as many running and throwing events as possible during the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2015.
“We’ve wanted to add a sport for quite a while to help increase overall enrollment, and track and field is the logical next step,” CCC Athletic Director Chad Kerr said. “With the hire of coach Swaney and his experience and skill set, now was the time to pull the trigger and add track and field.”
Any prospective track and field athletes interested in plying their skills at CCC should contact Swaney at firstname.lastname@example.org.
