Tiger cagers swept by Waldorf

FOREST CITY, Iowa — It was an unproductive night Friday for Central Christian College’s basketball teams as they made the long trip to Iowa with nothing to show for it against Waldorf College.

The Lady Tigers were outlasted 83-72, giving up 50 second-half points. CCC is now 0-13 in the MCAC, 8-21 overall.

Central threw a 1-2 punch at Waldorf as Quamisha Spence scored 24 points and Krystina Powell added 21.

Five Waldorf players scored in double figures, led by Ginny Sanchez and Lane Gehl with 17 apiece.

The Lady Tigers play today at first-place College of St. Mary.

• WALDORF MEN 83, CENTRAL 75 — A slow start did Central in, as it scored just 29 first-half points to trail by 11.

The Tigers rallied, but the deficit was too much to overcome.

Four Tigers scored in double figures, led by Aaron Miller with 17. Kris Quant made five 3-pointers to add 15, while Michael Gholston scored 11 and Daniel Nwosuh chipped in with 10.

Teddy Gibson led Waldorf with 15.

CCC is now 3-10 in the MCAC and 17-13 overall. It plays today at Bellevue.
