CCC cagers swept in regular-season finales

Central Christian College’s basketball teams split up Saturday by going to different destinations, but the end result was the same against nationally ranked teams.

The Tiger men were overwhelmed by 10th-ranked Bellevue, 101-70. CCC ended the regular season 3-11 in the MCAC, but 17-13 overall.

Aaron Miller scored 28 points to lead the Tigers, who were down 44-26 at the half. Michael Gholston added 13.

Six Bruins hit for double figures, led by Thomas Hammock with 15 points. Bellevue finished 12-2 in the MCAC.

CCC (70) — Quincy 2, Warren 4, Miller 28, Gholston 13, Nwosuh 3, Quant 3, Rojas 4, Clayborn 3, Adams 2, Fort 8.

Bellevue (101) — Worthen-Harris 9, Ames 12, Kalipende 10, Dotson 12, Strong 11, Sanders 4, Hammock 15, Young 12, Chonis 5, Droll 5, Redatar 6.

• College of St. Mary women 93, Central Christian 45 — The 11th-ranked Flames showed why they were the MCAC’s top team this year.

They sprinted to a 45-18 halftime lead and dealt CCC its 14th straight MCAC loss. The Lady Tigers are 8-22 overall.

Quamisha Spence put the final touches on a year that should earn her first-team conference honors as she led the Lady Tigers with 12 points. Krystin Powell scored 11.

Six Flames scored in double figures, led by Tiffany Analzone with 17.
