Kretzer, Lanning win state wrestling titles

The MAC Wrestling Club hosted the “War of the Roses” Girls State Championships Sunday at Central Christian College and the team had eight girls place.

1st — Mya Kretzer, 90-100 middle school; Addie Lanning, 148-159 high school.

3rd — Mara Engel, 60-65 elementary; Kaleigh Marbut, 110 middle school.

4th — Alexis Smith, 60-65, elementary; Haley Schafer, 125-130 middle school.

5th — Evelyn Bratcher, 70 elementary; Bailey Boyett, 105-117 high school.

The rest of the team competed Saturday at Ellsworth.

1st — Logan Peterson, 6-and-under, 49; Isaac Ramsey, 6-and-under, 61; Jaytin Gumm, 8-and-under, 70; Collin Pearson, 10-and-under, 67; Aaron Handlin, 10-and-under, 150.

2nd — Neill Raymond, 10-and-under, 76; Jonah Scott, 10-and-under, 130.

3rd — Aiden Smith, 6-and-under, 46; Tyson Gottwald, 12-and-under, 96.

4th — Brayden Stanford, 12-and-under, 100.

The only action this weekend is the 6-and-under state championship and the elementary state championship at Salina on Sunday.
