MANHATTAN — Central Christian College’s baseball team got back to the .500 mark on Tuesday with a 13-5 road rout of Manhattan Christian.
The Tigers set the tone early, jumping out to a 5-0 first-inning lead. The Tigers also had a four-run fourth in moving to 7-7 on the year.
CCC pounded out a season-high 18 hits, with Lee Stoops and Christian Herbig picking up three apiece. Martin Guevara, Clayton Lacher, Tyler Gniadek and Alex Rodriguez all had two hits. All but one of the Tiger hits were singles.
Thomas Koop threw 4 1/3 scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win.
The Tigers’ future is up the the air due to the weather. They were to have played a doubleheader here today, but it was postponed due to snow on the ground.
