MOUNDRIDGE — For Tabor College women’s basketball coach Shawn Reed, the wing positions for his Bluejays would appear to be in highly capable hands for the next four years.

After recently signing McPherson High sharpshooters Abby Pedersen and Hannah Willems, Reed added another recruiting gem with the signing of four-year Moundridge High standout MacKenzie Suderman, who was 2A All-State last year when the Wildcats took fourth place.

“We are thrilled that MacKenzie is joining our program,” said Reed, whose team took third in the KCAC during the regular season. “MacKenzie is a strong guard that can shoot the ball very well. She has played in a terrific program at Moundridge High School and been a part of some fantastic teams. MacKenzie has tremendous leadership potential and she is a terrific student. We feel she will be an outstanding fit for our program both on and off the court and we are blessed to have her join our basketball family."

Suderman played a key role in the Wildcats winning the Class 2A state title in her freshman year and has only gotten better.

Her honors include:

• 2011 2nd team All-HOA

• 2011 2A All-State honorable mention

• 2012 1st team All-HOA

• 2012 2A All-State honorable mention

• 2013 and 2014 Haven All-Tournament Team

• 2013 1st team All-HOA

• 2013 2A All-State 1st team

• 2013 KBCA 2A All-State 1st team

• 2013 Hutch News All-Area 2nd team

Also, her volleyball honors are:

• 2012 and 2013 1st team All-HOA

• 2012 and 2013 Kansas Volleyball All-State All-Academic

• 2013 2A All-State 1st team

Behind Suderman this season, the Wildcats have compiled an 18-2 regular season and will be involved in perhaps the toughest 2A sub-state.
