McPherson College’s Devirous Johnson, Samson Shivers and T.J. Grant were honored today by the KCAC.
Johnson and Shivers were both named to the All-KCAC third team, and Johnson also was named to the All-KCAC Defensive Team.
Grant earned All-KCAC honorable mention.
As expected, Friends University’s Joe Mitchell was named KCAC Player of the Year and the Falcons’ Dale Faber was picked Coach of the Year.
Saint Mary’s Grant Greenberg was named as Freshman of the Year and Sterling’s Darius Alexander was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Year. Newcomer of the Year honors went to Dewayne Biggs of Tabor.
Mitchell, the nation’s leading scorer, was joined on the first team by Greenberg, Bethany College’s Idris IbnIdris, Ottawa’s Julian Rose and Southwestern’s Cameron Clark.
Biggs, Alexander, Tabor’s Andrew Thomas, Friends’ Colton Rausch and Sterling’s Eddie Adesodun made up the second team.
Shivers and Johnson were joined on the third team by Sterling’s Braden Thompson, Bethany’s Kirby Hawkins and Friends’ Zach Nelson.
Grant and Bethany’s Vincent Roybal headlined the honorable mention list along with Shiron Williams and Torren Dowdy of Saint Mary, Alex Lundry of Ottawa, Brock Borovetz and Michael Johnson of Kansas Wesleyan, William Tisdale of Southwestern, Anthony White of Friends and Lance Carter of Tabor.
Mac’s Johnson, Alexander and White were augmented on the All-Defensive Team by Tisdale and Dowdy.
Greenberg, Carter, Alex Hasty of Ottawa, and Jacob Lunz and Dominique Johnson of Kansas Wesleyan comprised the All-Freshman Team.
