Busy indoor weekend for CCC netters

FREMONT, Neb. — Central Christian College’s tennis teams stayed indoors Saturday for matches against Midland University and Doane.

The Tiger men were making their season debut. They were edged 5-4 by Midland, with Mark Gayer and Dylon Neal both having a big day. Gayer won at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-1) and Neal triumphed at No. 2 (6-2, 6-1), with the duo then combining for a doubles win at No. 1 (8-1). The other Tiger point came at No. 3 singles from Hugo Chavez (6-7, 6-1, 10-8) as CCC was strong at the top of the order.

The Tigers then lost to Doane College, 6-1. Gayer and Neal at No. 1 doubles triumphed  9-7 and neither finished a singles match.


The Lady Tigers lost 7-2 to Midland. Megan Carter (8-5) and Em Barnett (8-3) were successful at No. 3 and 4 singles, respectively.

The Lady Tigers were blanked 7-0 by Doane.
