MHS boys still ranked No. 1

McPherson High’s boys will take a No. 1 Class 4A Division I state ranking into this week’s sub-state tournament at the Roundhouse, according to final rankings released late Monday by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association.

The Bullpups are followed by Basehor-Linwood, Baldwin, Kansas City Piper, Independence, Coffeyville, Labette County, Augusta, Ottawa and Abilene.

The MHS girls are No. 6, trailing Wamego, Miege, Hayden, Paola and Andover Central. Behind MHS are Fort Scott, Kansas City Piper, Coffeyville and Louisburg.

Hesston is still No. 1 in both Class 3A boys and girls. The Swather boys opened sub-state play Monday night with an easy victory, while the Swather girls begin play tonight.

The Moundridge girls, who won their sub-state opener Monday, are No. 4 in Class 2A.
