The Friends University women were devastated Monday night when Tabor upset Southwestern for the KCAC Postseason Tournament championship.
A Southwestern win would have clinched a spot in the upcoming NAIA National Tournament for Friends.
But the Falcons’ disposition was much better Wednesday when they learned that they had been added to the field as an at-large entry.
That gives the KCAC three teams in the 32-team field at Sioux City, Iowa, next week.
On Wednesday, Southwestern plays Eastern Oregon at 10:15 a.m. Tabor goes up against Northwestern Iowa at 1:45 p.m., while Friends takes on College of Saint Mary at 8:45 p.m. Thursday.
Men’s pairings also were announced, with play contested at Point Lookout, Mo. On Wednesday, Friends takes on Northwood University at 1:45 p.m., while Tabor goes up against Indiana-Southeast at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday as well.
